Randy Orton has not made a WWE television appearance since May 2022 after undergoing hip surgery. Orton’s latest medical update casts great doubt on the WWE legend’s immediate return.
WWE legend Bob Orton is clearly concerned about his son’s health. He spoke via Sportskeeda’s Bill Apter (h/t WrestlingNews.co) about Orton’s current situation and hinted that his injury could lead to his retirement.
“He is in training so we will see what happens. said Orton. “And he’s very well looked after. I don’t think he needs that. I think the doctors told him not to.”
Orton in training indicates that not only is his hip healing well, but that he is considering a return to the ring. But he’s not ready for wrestling yet. It may be difficult for Orton to get back into the square circle if doctors tell him not to. Wrestlers like Daniel Bryan, Edge and Paige have suffered a similar fate.
Randy Orton is one of WWE’s most beloved figures. Combined with his Evolution streak, Orton’s RKO finish as a “Legend Killer” adds to his appeal outside of the wrestling world. Along with his fame, Orton is also one of the most accomplished wrestlers. During his tenure, he won his WWE Championship ten times and is also a Grand Slam Champion. This means that each WWE has retained his belt throughout his tenure.
Orton’s retirement will shock the industry. However, nothing has been decided yet. Bob Orton has revealed his son’s thought process when making his decision.
“Randy does what Randy is going to do, he always does.”
