Project Lakshmi – Empowering 50,000 Indian Women with Economic Literacy

New Delhi [India], May 15 (ANI/Newsreach): The Surjina Charitable Trust is a non-profit organization empowering women and improving their quality of life in India since 2011. The organization has transformed the lives of over 160,000 women through its holistic and sustainable approach to women’s empowerment. Affected by poverty, abuse and human trafficking.
Recently, in September 2022, Srujna implemented Project Lakshmi, a financial literacy awareness program for women. The project aims to educate women about financial literacy, budgeting and savings so that they can make informed decisions about their money and take control of their financial future.
“Getting an income is no longer enough. Women have traditionally been financial planners in their homes, managing their budgets. Founder Jotika Sera says:
The project will help women better manage their finances, control their spending, develop savings habits, and save for important goals like education and retirement.

Suldina believes the project will give women a greater say in the family’s economic decisions, ultimately leading to financial freedom. The program is delivered through short videos that women can watch at their convenience, curated by leading consultants in training and finance. Through her 1,147 enlightenment sessions, she has provided assistance to 52,070 women, thanks to financial support provided by Experian Credit Information Company Of India Private Limited.
Suldina’s exemplary work on the ground has been featured in major newspapers across the country and has received awards such as the ‘TSS Social Enterprise Global Award’ at the TiE Sustainability Summit 2021 and the ‘Transparency Key’ by GuideStar. The organization’s dedication to empowering women and improving their lives is commendable, and its commitment to improving women’s financial literacy through Project Lakshmi is a step towards that mission.
