The results of Saturday’s polls around Cook County are starting to arrive.

KGAF Radio reports that Lindsay ISD voters approved the $15.8 million bond by an almost two-to-one margin. Register is waiting for an informal vote tally. The bonds will pay for renovations and new facilities, such as a new high school building and a cafeteria with elementary school classrooms.

The proposed sale of Gainesville’s Sesque Centennial Park also received voter approval, 392 to 87, according to unofficial figures released by city officials. Proceeds from the sale will be used to fund the construction of a new fire station on the east side of the city.

Gainesville’s council or school board seats were not contested, so those elections were canceled.

The rest of Saturday’s elections will be held within the county, with various towns competing for seats. The City of Valleyview is electing a mayor, and incumbent Dick Haryen faces challenger Lisa Her Bellows for the seat on the North Central Texas College Board of Trustees.

Unofficial results for those races were not available on Saturday night. Check out the printed version of the register on Tuesday, or return to www.gainesvilleregister.com on Monday for the full list of results.
