Dave Jajina, who has led efforts to raise the profile of Trine University and contribute to record growth, will step down as Vice President of Marketing and Communications for the university on May 31.
Jarzyna’s leadership includes spearheading the institution’s major marketing campaigns, which have resulted in increased awareness of Trine University throughout the region. He also reorganized and increased the marketing and communications staff to meet the university’s needs more efficiently.
He championed the formation and growth of the Trine Broadcasting Network. TBN produces high-quality multimedia coverage of Trine University events, provides listening entertainment and enrichment through online channels, and provides hands-on learning opportunities for Trine Communication students.
He also directed the university’s critical communications efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic, keeping Trine’s students, faculty, and staff informed and reassured.
Trine’s increased marketing efforts during Jarzyna’s tenure contributed to record-breaking enrollment, with over 9,500 students attending across all locations this spring. We have also helped raise capital to significantly expand Trine’s facilities in Angola and Fort Wayne.
“Trine University is a much bigger and better-known university than when Dave arrived seven years ago,” said Trine University President Earl D. Brooks II. “He leaves a legacy to be proud of. We are grateful for his outstanding service to Trine University.”
“I was hired seven years ago to raise the profile of the university and I think we have made great strides in that area,” said Jarzyna. “I am especially grateful for the leadership of Dr. Brooks and the support provided by our excellent Board of Trustees to support the many important initiatives that are moving forward every day across the University.
After retiring, Yargina will continue to take on a consulting role for the university, assisting with the transition of departments and rectors.
Jarzyna has been with Trine in her current role since 2016. Prior to joining Trine, she was Vice President of Marketing at Hamline College in St. Paul, Minnesota.
