Could Jorge Masvidal end his retirement due to potential fights with Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz?
In November 2019, Jorge Masvidal faced Nate Diaz in a major UFC 244 match. Their welterweight bout was at stake for the UFC’s ceremonial BMF title. “Gamebread” delivered an impressive performance, stopping Diaz with a third-round TKO of him to earn his BMF belt.
Masvidal and Diaz have expressed interest in a subsequent rematch. Regardless, Diaz currently has YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul next in the box and isn’t under contract with the UFC.
Meanwhile, Jorge Masvidal and Conor McGregor have been at odds for years. ‘Gamebread’ has often gone so far as to claim that ‘The Notorious’ are afraid to fight him. He vowed to win against Chandler.
Additionally, McGregor has previously expressed interest in facing Masvidal and has consistently insisted he is not afraid to fight anyone. Considering the aforementioned variables, we can say that a fight between Masvidal and Diaz is unlikely to happen any time soon.
Nonetheless, a match between Masvidal and McGregor could happen if “Gamebread” retires.
