Future Hyundai Ecstar will come standard with six airbags and safety features

Hyundai India is ready to launch the new Ecstar in the Indian market. At under four meters, the compact SUV will rival the likes of the Tata Punch and the newly launched Maruti Suzuki Fronx. Hyundai has announced that the next Ecstar will come with six airbags as standard equipment.

In the Indian market, it will be the first and only SUV under 4 meters with six airbags as standard on all models. Hyundai also said the next-generation vehicle will come with 26 safety features across all variants, with options on entry-level E and S trims.

Safety features include ESC (Electronic Stability Control), VSM (Vehicle Stability Management), HAC (Hill Assist Control), 3-point seat belt and seat belt reminder (all seats), ABS with EBD, burglar alarm (segment #1), and more.

The Exter will be the only car within this segment to offer features such as an integrated dashboard camera and TPMS. In addition, advanced safety features such as ISOFIX anchors, headlamp escort function, and rear parking camera are also installed.

The upcoming Hyundai Ecstar is poised to be the most capable vehicle in its segment, and Hyundai could equip it with terrain modes and other traction-based features to enhance its capabilities. Hyundai’s teaser shows that this compact SUV will perform well on a wide variety of terrain types.

A recent spy shot of the Exter SUV captured by Moto.ES suggests it will adopt a boxy, upright stance similar to the Venue, but smaller in size. Despite the heavy camouflage, certain design elements can be recognized, such as the venue-like split headlamp assembly with LED daytime running lights and LED projectors in the top-end trim. Additionally, the higher version of the Exter will offer attractive features such as 15-inch machined alloy wheels, roof rails, his LED inserts in the tail lamps and a single-plate sunroof.

The Exter is powered by a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine and is expected to develop 83PS of power and 114Nm of torque. It comes with a standard 5-speed manual gearbox and may have the option of a 5-speed AMT. Additionally, it’s possible that Hyundai will offer the venue’s 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine as an alternative for higher trim levels.

In the subcompact SUV market, the Hyundai Ecstar will compete with rivals such as the Tata Punch and Citroen C3, as well as lower-spec naturally aspirated versions of other compact SUVs such as the Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger and the upcoming Marti. . Suzuki Fronx.
