Column: Mothers Need More Credit | Oklahoma

Financial Planners

Last Sunday was Mother’s Day. On this day, we should all take a moment to focus on her mother and express our love and gratitude for all she has done for us.

According to Wikipedia, Mother’s Day was first celebrated in the United States in 1907 when Anna Jarvis conducted a Mother’s Day service at Andrews Methodist Church in Grafton, West Virginia. In 1914, President Woodrow Wilson designated the second Sunday in May as a national holiday in honor of mothers.

Mother’s Day is celebrated all over the world in different countries at different times throughout the year. It is slightly different in different countries, such as International Women’s Day in Russia, Family Day in Israel, Parents’ Day in South Korea, etc., but in Mongolia it is combined with Children’s Day.

For me, a mother should spend more than one day just making phone calls, giving gifts, and eating. Without mothers, we wouldn’t even exist as humans. If a job is posted for mothers, they will need seven-figure salaries. please think about it. Mothers are medical professionals, counselors, financial planners, bankers, business consultants, reporters, educators, administrators, law enforcement officers, judges, lawyers, investigators, electronics experts, engineers, agricultural experts. , professional shoppers, chauffeurs, chefs, event planners, negotiators, advocates and more. In fact, you could say they are superheroes.

Mothers are not just biological mothers. Big cheers are also sent to the stepmothers. They do all of the above, often under even more stressful circumstances with an unknown family structure. The stepmother should receive a bonus to the fictitious salary for the above job description.

Mothers do not simply live in the same household as their children. We often hear teachers refer to their students as “my children,” and they feel a parental bond with the students in their class. Her other set of “mothers” are the mother’s own children’s friends. I know a lot of young people who refer to their friends’ mothers as “mama.” [blank]’ or ‘mom [blank]” It’s always a lovely feeling when your child’s friends feel so comfortable with you and see you as another parent to help and support you during a vulnerable time. Grandma is also a kind of mother. In today’s world, they often have to take responsibility for raising their grandchildren after they have already raised their own children.

Another type of mother who is usually not respected and often joked about is the mother-in-law. For many people, especially newlyweds, it can be a little awkward for the new spouse to have close contact with the new wife and the husband’s mother. Most men are usually on good terms with their mothers, and in many mothers’ opinion, no one cares more for their sons than they do.

For girls, mothers are often best friends, so whenever a new husband does something without thinking, the wife’s mother should know it. However, if you step back from society’s eyes, your remarriage partner may take advantage of the situation. Instead of fear, imagine having an extra mother and someone to help her with all of the above tasks. You may enjoy your time with your new husband or wife even more. So, to the mothers of the world. We hope your special day is wonderful and that you are recognized for your hard work each and every day of the year.
