MARKET — Marquette County Circuit Court Judge Jennifer Mazuchi has announced plans to retire after serving as a judge for 15 years.
She said the decision was bittersweet, but she is excited about the future.
“This is a tough decision, but it’s been a really rewarding career and I’m honored to be in this position.” Mazzi said. “By the time I retire, I will have about 15 years on the court and about 27 on the court. I will have more flexibility in my life and spend more time with my family and other interests. I’ve just reached the point where I want to.”
Prior to his current position, Mr. Mazuchi practiced private civil law in Detroit until 1997, when he became an Assistant Attorney for Marquette County. Then, in 2008, he became a lay judge on the 25th Circuit Court, handling criminal and family cases.
Mazuchi received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and a Juris Doctor degree from Wayne State University School of Law.
